the welfare system.

Welcome one and all, for another game of, "What's that rant!?"

Not really.

Anyways, my rant for this week is probably not going to be as long as my previous two, but hey, here goes.

The Welfare system here in the U.S. is a joke. Now, before I get started, let me go ahead and say that I'm sure there are limits on how long somebody can collect welfare. So don't jump down my throat. However, I also know, like everything else in this lovely country, there's ways around everything.

Why are people permitted to live their lives entirely on welfare? Why should we, the taxpayers and hard-working citizens have to pay so those cheap asses can just sit back and relax? Now, again, I'm not knocking the people who genuinely need it. Shit happens, we all know this, that's precisely why the welfare system was started. However, it was never meant to be a permanent hand-out to those people too lazy to better themselves.

When the welfare system was first introduced, it was supposed to be a leg up to those who had been knocked down by cutbacks and other things of that sort. There wasn't supposed to be a way to collect it indefinitely, because after a set period of time, if you hadn't been looking for a new job or career, your money was cut anyways. There weren't supposed to be loopholes. This is AMERICA, the Land of Opportunity! There's jobs everywhere. If you can't find one, you're not looking. This isn't a wild goose chase, jobs don't go hiding under rocks deep in the forest. There's no need for you to grab a sword and a suit of armor and go fight a dragon for one. You just have to try.

Oh my god, not that word.

Not.... TRY.

God forbid you put forth effort to make better your own situation. No, you'd rather take the money from those people who work their asses off to make the money they EARN. Nothing like free money, right?

There is no such thing as free money. At some point in time, somebody's hard work went into your money, and you don't feel anything about it. You're taking money from somebody who is working one hundred times harder than you, in alot of cases, in situations far worse than yours, and by far, needs the money more than you.

Forget that.

The welfare system needs to be reworked so that the people who are just kicked back, collecting other people's money, actually have to get up and work for their own money. No more "free" money to free-loaders. Get up and do some work.
